The Unfolded Protein Response (UPR) in ER Stress

We would like to acknowledge Dr. Shackleford for her guidance and support throughout this Cell Biology project. Her lectures and course materials were essential in helping us understand complex topics such as protein folding, ER stress, and the unfolded protein response. We also appreciate the structured approach of the class, which encouraged critical thinking and allowed us to connect cellular processes to real-world diseases like Alzheimer’s. This project gave us the opportunity to deepen our understanding of how cells maintain protein quality control and what happens when these systems fail. Additionally, we would like to recognize the resources provided in the textbook and class discussions, which helped reinforce key concepts and clarify difficult material. Overall, this assignment helped us improve both our scientific understanding and our ability to communicate biological processes in a clear and visual way. We are grateful for the knowledge and skills we have gained in this course.
