Alcohol-Related Liver Disease (ARLD) Infographic

Underage drinking and alcohol abuse is the most prevalent among college students, so awareness of the long-term detrimental effects of alcoholism is necessary. This project was supported by Dr. Boies for allowing her Epidemiology students like myself to discuss health-related issues that we feel most called to bring awareness to.

Hello all. My name is Amanda and I am pre-PA student pursuing a Biology major, a Psychology minor, and a certificate in Public Health. I will be graduating at the end of the Spring 2023 semester, but in my four years at St. Mary’s University, I have notably been an active member of the Marianist Leadership Program (MLP), which is a service and faith-based organization that serves both the South Side San Antonio community and within St. Mary’s. Currently, I am conducting vertebrae physiology research alongside Dr. Mary Hawkins. I was also a part of other organizations and acted as an executive board member of the University Programming Council (UPC) and a general member of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA).

Wow! This infographic is one of the most visually appealing I’ve seen. Your color scheme is great, and the icons and graphics all fit the overall theme, and it is just great to look at. In addition, your information is highly informative with statistics and explanations that’s support digestible reading. For me, near the bottom of the infographic the text got slightly too small, but, overall, the infographic is truly stunning. Great job!

Hello, Amanda! I think you wrote about a very important topic regarding the consumption of alcohol. The use of alcohol has been increasing at an alarming rate, especially among younger generations. The younger generation are being introduced to alcohol at a very early age, accelerating their use of alcohol to a very high degree. I am glad you wrote about this topic and hope this reaches the targeted audience so that it could help raise awareness and prevent this poison caused by alcohol. Great infographic!

I love the design of this infographic! The number of people who have drunk alcohol and a good chunk of heavy drinkers will develop hepatitis, that’s terrifying! Thank you for including symptoms, you’re helping someone! Thank you for providing appropriate countermeasures to help the public! Thank you for providing a helpline!

This was a very professional and beautiful. When I was reading the first part of the infographic, I was asking myself what would be considered excessive drinking. I was pleased to see that you answered that question in the very next section. Not only was the infographic informative, it looks really good. It is well organized and pleasing to look at. You really knocked it out of the park. Congratulations on your nomination!

This infographic was awesome because it provided tons of information about a topic that is very relevant to college students. One of the major aspects of the infographic that I liked was that it conveyed the information in a short and concise manner which is great because it sort of got straight to the point. Alcohol abuse is often times a serious issue that effects many college students, so an infographic like this one is truly amazing because it allows its target audience to learn more about the dangers associated with alcohol use.
