Hello Elizabeth! I can definitely speak to sleep not being a priority during lockdown. Despite all the free time we all had, it was truly difficult to be relaxed because there was no controlling over what was going on with the virus. Therefore, I tend to think it is ironic when people mention that the pandemic was an optimal time to get good sleep because of the immense anxiety that was caused. Overall, I think this article is very insightful and informative of what was truly going on during the Covid-19 lockdown. Good job!

First, congratulations to the writer on this awesome article and her award. Before I had caught Covid, during the lockdown I sometimes did have trouble going to sleep and staying asleep. Now when I caught Covid I didn’t really have much trouble sleeping, in fact I was sleeping the whole day. Every time my mom would leave for work I’d be sleep and when she came back I still would be sleep. Moreover Covid does have its effects on everyone differently and after reading your article that made me realize how I could have experienced this but thankfully I didn’t. Overall this is a great article and more people should read this for information about Covid because its still real.

Congratulations great article! It’s amazing what our bodies do during REM hours. I have recently discovered how significantly important it is for our bodies to enter this REM sleep. It is just overall mind-blowing how these five stages are on constant repeat while we sleep. This article does well in highlighting both the positive and negative effects many have endured due to the pandemic and may continue to struggle. Sleep is essential and heavily affects how we live our lives and most importantly our mental health.

COVID had such a huge impact on society, not only in the literal healthcare aspect– but also in the area of mental health. Sleep is how our body recovers itself on a daily basis, to understand how it works is a service to ourselves. As an occasional insomniac, I appreciate the amount of research conducted and how it was explained in such an effective manner!

Congratulations on your amazing article. I really enjoyed how informative it was. During the pandemic, lockdown was such a crazy thing and I can definitely see why all of us were freaking out about being isolated and unable to socialize if not through a screen. For me, I honestly can’t even remember if I struggled to sleep, but I remember I hated having so much extra free time because I have always felt like I needed to be busy in order to stay sane. Eventually, I was able to navigate it a bit and I would spend my time in my front or back yard and try to get away with walking around in my neighborhood so that was nice. But, yeah, you hit a lot of great points. Thanks for sharing.

Great job on the article Elizabeth! It’s crazy how our bodies go into full on mode during REM sleep. I didn’t realize how important it is for our bodies to get this type of sleep until I read this article. It’s pretty wild how our bodies cycle through these five stages while we snooze. The article does a great job of highlighting the effects that the pandemic has had on sleep and mental health. It’s no secret that COVID has taken a toll on society, not just physically but mentally as well. Sleep is crucial for our mental health and well-being, and understanding how it works is key.

Congratulations on this amazing article! This article is very well-written and informative. I honestly had no clue on how important it is for our bodies to have this specific type of sleep, nor the five cycles it goes through as we sleep, especially since now it seems difficult to even rest peacefully. I loved how informative this article is, especially since it is something that occurred not so long ago and it is very correct because even for myself the pandemic had a huge effect on my sleep and mental health, Great Article!

Wow this was not something I really considered, but it makes so much sense! As an insomniac, good quality and lengthy sleep is something that I have gone through since I was a child. I had COVID in September and sleeping was such a good way to get through the isolated days and painful symptoms. I have always loved reading about our sleep cycles and how our brains go through each of them! Congratulations!

When Covid 19 first started, it had a significant influence on mankind. Many people’s routines have been interrupted as a result of the lockdown. Despite all of our free time, it was impossible to relax because we had no influence over what was happening with the virus. As a result, many people struggled to sleep and felt exhausted. It had an impact on many people of all ages and how they managed their time. Overall, this is an excellent post, and more people should read it to learn more about the effects of sleep during, which is still active now a days.

Covid 19 has had a big impact on humanity. The lockdown has disrupted many people’s routines. For us, students, not going to school and not having to wake up early definitely harmed us. I love how this article talks about our sleep schedule because it was a challenge for me when the pandemic first started. Sleep cycles are important and the fact that I had nothing to do all day made me want to stay in bed and take multiple naps throughout the day which led to me staying up all night. This cycle affected my health and my productivity. Research like this helps us know how bad it is and that we should always try to fight our urges to stay healthy.
