Nuclear Import and Export: The Role of Importins and Exportins was created to help explain how proteins move in and out of the nucleus, this process is essential for maintaining a cells health. The goal of this infographic was to present Nuclear Import and Export in a visually engaging and easily understandable format. I would like to sincerely thank Professor Terry Shackelford for her guidance and feedback while working on this infographic. Thank you for helping me better define NLS and NES along with the Ran-GTP’s role. Along with Professor Terry Shackelford I would also like to thank Angelica Cue-Leon, and Macarena Machado Combe who helped peer review this infographic and gave very insightful recommendations for changes. While working on this project it helped me better understand how to make a scientific infographic, better understand how the nuclear transport system works, and understanding the link between this system and well-known diseases.
