Pipetting Techniques Guide

The Pipetting Techniques Guide is a helpful, beginner-friendly video that walks you through the essential skills needed for accurate and confident pipetting in the lab. Pipetting is a key technique used to measure and transfer small amounts of liquids, something you’ll do all the time in biology, chemistry, and other science courses. Getting it correct is super important because even slight mistakes can affect your experiment’s results. In this guide, we cover the basics like how to hold a pipette, choose the right tips, and use techniques like forward and reverse pipetting. We also point out common mistakes to avoid, so you can build good habits from the start.

To make the video, we used Fliki, a cool, simple tool that turns scripts into narrated videos with voiceovers. We also brought in BioRender to design science-based illustrations that make a visual for each step, that way it’s easy to follow. Combining these tools helped us create a video that’s both educational and easy to watch. Our video is perfect for students who want to improve their pipetting skills or need a quick refresher before heading into the lab.
