I am a Pre-Medical student with a Biology major, Chemistry minor, and certification in Public Health at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. I was born in El Paso, Texas, and raised in San Antonio, Texas. After receiving my bachelor’s degree in the Spring of 2022, I plan on completing a dual master’s program in business administration and Public Health Administration. My passion is medicine and I plan on attending medical school to pursue a Doctor’s degree in Medicine in pediatrics with a specialization in gastroenterology. Throughout my time at St. Mary’s, I have participated in research as a student assistant in the biochemistry department and have contributed to various organizations holding officer positions, such as Risk Management and Treasurer for “Girl Up StMU” as well as Honor’s Council Chair and Education Director for Sigma Sigma Sigma National Sorority. Outside of school, I am a medical assistant and medical scribe at a pediatric clinic, Parsi Pediatrics, and have volunteered throughout my four years within my community with various Non-Profit Organizations.

As someone who has asthma it was nice reading an infographic that has such detail about the disease and the factors that can cause it. Spreading the awareness of treatment and asthma triggers is important and this infographic can help many people.

Hi Diana! Congratulations on your infographic. I love the format you used and the colors which pop out your information. I also appreciate that you added some diagrams to your infographic so we can see the numbers on paper rather than just reading it. I also enjoyed how you used numbers from the United States and the world. I had Asthma when I was growing up, and it is essential to highlight this disease and prevent it. Again, Congratulations!

Hello Diana, First of all, congratulations on your nomination and getting your infographic published! I don’t have a lot of knowledge about asthma, especially in the U.S., but your infographic helped me a lot! The design, color, fonts, and pictures used create a perfect mix and makes it pleasant to read. It was also practical that you not only focused in the United States for the numbers, but also around the world. I like infographics that spread awareness. Overall, amazing work and good luck!

Hey Diana, Firstly, congrats on your nomination! I’m glad I read this infographic, and I’m personally drawn to it because members of my family have asthma. This really helped me get a grasp on the numbers, risk factors, and how to treat it or prevent it from happening. It was a great and easy to follow read!

Hi Diana! First off, congratulations on the nomination! There was plenty of information for me to look at and understand, especially since I do not know much about asthma. Growing up, I have had teammates and family members with it, but I never really understood how it affected them and what could have caused them to have it. This is such an informational read! My brother has asthma so I’m aware of it, I just didn’t know what causes it. Knowing this is important, so this should be something everyone should read. I appreciate that you not only just covered asthma in the United States, but also asthma throughout the world. I like the way you used font and color to make this great infographic!

I love the layout of this. When I was younger I had an asthma problem. I was on an Inhaler with my mom and throughout time it got better the need of relying on a pump. I think the graphics and how you describe how common it is a great way to spread their awareness and make people understand in a simple way. My cause of usage was due to allergies that were bad for me at the time.
