Wake Up to the Truth: Coffee and Misleading Data

I would like to thank Dr. Lori Boies for her support throughout this project, providing constructive criticism and guiding me until the end. I greatly appreciate the knowledge Dr. Boies has instilled in me, helping me gather and present this information. Lastly, I want to thank my friends and classmates for their assistance during the editing phase and for selflessly prioritizing my needs.

I am studying to obtain a dual major in a Biology and Marketing Degree with a graduation date in the Spring of 2026. I plan on continuing my education in medical school for an M.D. in orthopedic surgery, in PA school, or an MBA degree. Throughout my time at St. Mary's, I have been a part of the tennis team for four years, have published multiple research sources, and have multiple Excel and RStudio certifications. Outside of school, I teach tennis to high level high school players and college players as well as shadow surgeons with different specialties.

This infographic really challenged a lot of the common myths I’ve heard about coffee. I always thought it sobered you up or made you dehydrated, so it was interesting to see the science behind those ideas being debunked. The reminder about correlation not meaning causation was super important too. It made me think more critically about the info we usually accept without question.
