Understanding Constant Change in Biology

This infographic explains how evolution works by showing how DNA, mutations, proteins, and traits are all connected. The information came from class lectures, the OpenStax Biology textbook, and trusted sources like MedlinePlus and the University of California Museum of Paleontology. These sources helped explain how mutations happen and how they can change proteins, which then affect an organism’s traits. Natural selection then determines which individuals are more likely to survive and pass on those traits. The example of antibiotic resistance shows how evolution happens in real life. Evolution never stops because mutations are always occurring and environments are constantly changing, so populations continue to adapt over time. Overall, this project helped show how small changes in DNA can lead to bigger changes in populations, making evolution easier to understand.
