The infographic is instructive and discusses important areas of Rwanda’s growth. I was shocked to find that Rwanda currently boasts one of the world’s highest percentages of women in parliament, at over 60%. I was unaware, but I am really pleased that Rwanda has one of the greatest proportions of women in parliament in the world! The conversation about the current administration’s foreign policies and priorities was quite informative!
The arrangement of the infographic is constructed in such a manner that it is extremely easy to follow, and I loved the drawings since they assist understand the theme. I enjoyed all of the numbers, maps, and graphs you included in your infographic; they lift your work to a new level.

I was surprised by how Rwanda’s recovery after the genocide focused so much on forgiveness and rebuilding unity. The best part of the infographic was how community healing was presented with joyful imagery, and it really made the transformation feel genuine and hopeful. Beautiful work and quite impactful.

The most surprising aspect was Rwanda’s remarkable recovery and progress post-genocide, with initiatives like the Gacaca courts and the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission. Rwanda’s journey from 1994 to the present is particularly impactful, with the visual timeline effectively illustrating the country’s progress in key areas such as economic growth, healthcare, and education. I really liked your infographic!

    Hello Bella,

I was surprised to learn how Rwanda has not only rebuilt after the genocide but has actually become a regional leader in technology, gender equality, and economic development — all while dealing with regional tensions and political challenges.

The best part of this infographic was the way it balanced Rwanda’s progress with its ongoing issues, like regional tensions with the DRC. It made the country’s transformation feel inspiring but still honest and realistic.

One piece of constructive feedback would be to maybe make the timeline at the bottom a little larger or more central because it was such a strong summary of Rwanda’s achievements.

We have learned much in Dr. Celine’s class about how Rwanda has attempted to navigate the decades after the 1994 genocide, particularly in how its has attempted to move past the ethnic categories imposed by colonial rule. This infographic did a great job of showing some of the progress the country has made in attempting to move past such a horrible chapter. The surprising aspect of this has been in how tensions have increased between Rwanda and the DRC in light of the recent moves by the M23 rebel groups. Great job!

This was such an informative infographic. I was surprised to learn that restorative justice measures were used after the genocide because this seems like one of the crimes where there would be too much hate to make headway. One of the best parts of the graphic was the comparison between the work of international courts and local courts. I think this helped emphasize why restorative justice would be able to work – because it was implemented at a community level. This also showed that the local level efforts are necessary to reach reconciliation and peace.

Very good infographic Bella. This is very shocking to hear that of one million were killed in the genocide against the Tutsi in just 100 days. First off, one life is too many, let alone one million. This infographic was extremely informative and highly recommend everyone to read about the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi to know what people have and continue to go through around the world.

The 1994 Genocide Against Tutsi in Rwanda is a heartbreaking moment in human history that will be remembered forever. Your infographics do an amazing job of highlighting the importance of the event and provide a linear representation of transformative justice in the country. My favorite part was learning about the country’s goals for the future, which seem like they are heading in the right direction.
