Kickstarting a Healthy Life: Nutritional Needs for Infants

Alyssa Koehl

I was born and raised in New Braunfels, Texas. Following graduation in Spring 2026, I will receive a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a Teacher Certification in Math (grades 7-12). After graduation, I will pursue a job in education. I plan to teach high school math and coach volleyball. I am a member and team captain of the volleyball team at St. Mary's University. I also am the president of a ministry organization on campus, Fellowship of Christian Athletes. During my free time, I coach a 13 year old club volleyball team at Ignite Volleyball Club.

    I didn’t realize how much goes into infant nutrition during the first year, and this infographic explained it in such a clear way. The 0–6 month and 6–12 month breakdowns were super helpful, especially the reminders about vitamin D and introducing solids slowly. I also liked how the breastfeeding vs. formula section gave facts without pushing one side too hard.
