Hi, through your writing I learned so much more about mental health and illness. Its crazy how back then people would’ve got a lobotomy for being depressed, but now people honestly just need a hug. I like how you kept your infographic cute and light hearted despite the dark topic of mental illness.

Growing up in a hispanic family I had many relatives that had a stigma toward mental illnesses. The infographic is amazing and shows what happens when the mental illnesses are ignored and services aren’t used. Great job!

Dear Paola, I hope this reply finds you well.
Thank you for highlighting how important mental health is!
It is so important to remind everyone that taking care of our mental well-being is not just a sign of strength but also a crucial part of self-care.
As a Hispanic, I truly appreciate someone bringing awareness to the low mental heath literacy in our households. It is time for someone to emphasize how open, constructive conversations around mental health can help break down barriers and encourage more of us to seek the support we need.
Your infographic is a great step toward normalizing this discussions and I appreciate that.
    Great job!

Great infographic.Thank you for bringing awareness to mental health issues and their drawbacks. Many see this topic as a taboo conversation. It must be conversed about more openly.

Thank you for advocating towards the normalization of mental health within the hispanic community. Coming from a Hispanic household, I can confirm that it is not normalized due to our mental health stigma of thinking people who do seek help are “lazy” or “dramatic.” In fact, I recently am trying to normalize my mental health for myself. I believe this all tails back generations but the only way we change this is by educating future generations that it’s okay to seek help.

Hi Paola! Right off the bat, I absolutely love your title. It’s powerful and gets right to breaking the stigma that mental health awareness is for “weak” people. Your beautifully presented infographic does wonders at conveying the importance of mental health and the dangers of stigmatizing such an important topic. We must work together as a society to break these stigmas and provide easier access to mental health resources for everyone. Congratulations on your nomination!

Bravo for this infographic. Not only does it present a neuralgic topic for our contemporary society, but it does so in a highly effective way. Anyone could say that this infographic has been prepared by design professionals for a dissemination campaign on health issues. In this work, the organization of the content is impeccable. The use of colors, so intentional, provides balance and coherence. The selection of fonts and their sizes also seem very effective in conveying the message. Congratulations to its author.

Your analysis of the impact of mental health for the Hispanic community is insightful. It’s crucial to explore both positive and negative aspects. Incorporating recent studies or personal anecdotes could enhance the depth of your argument! Great article!

I love how this pleasing to the eye this infographic is! This topic is very important to raise awareness on. I am not hispanic, but my culture also has the same issue of not understanding or addressing mental illness. Your solutions are really interesting as well. It is sad to know that the suicide rate on Hispanics is really high due to their lack of education and comprehension of mental illness. However, great job and congratulations on being nominated!!

It’s very interesting getting more knowledge about the topic of mental health and the stigma surrounding it in Hispanic families since I myself have seen it first hand. Great work!
