Hi Jada and Sally! There are a few places where the infographic’s design may be strengthened, but it makes good use of reliable sources and arranges them under the themes of equality and republicanism. The citations are difficult to read due to the text’s crowding, tiny font size, irregular line breaks, and occasionally competing busy patriotic backdrop. Despite this, the patriotic imagery well complements the subject matter, and the entire motif is aesthetically pleasing. The infographic is comprehensive and well-structured overall, but to improve readability and give it a more polished appearance, it would benefit from better formatting, a simpler backdrop behind the text, and cleaner spacing. I absolutely loved it overall though it was fascinating!
Hi Sally and Jada! Wow! I really enjoyed this infographic! It was well put together and super easy to understand and read. It flowed extremely well! It gives me such a nostalgic feeling especially the colors and the images, it reminds me of Schoolhouse Rock and their videos discussing the government! It was extremely detailed as well, and had lots of insight! Overall, awesome job!
Hi Jada and Sally, I think that this was a super impressive infographic. It has so much information and yet still doesn’t feel cluttered at all, which I think is a testimony to your guys’ organizational abilities. I really liked the structure and the way that you traced ideas from their roots up to modern times, and explained what they mean in practice. Overall just a fantastic job, well done.
Hi Jada and Sally,
Amazing infographic, Your color choices effectively captured the readers’ attention. As a reader, it was easy to stay on track with the material; every section was beautifully organized. I especially liked how you guys tied all the concepts together. For example, on page 3, you provided a comprehensive concept of American Political thought and experiment. All the information that was provided was very beneficial for learning, but I would suggest adding a table of contents. Considering that you provide a great amount of information, it does feel overwhelming to read it all. I would suggest highlighting or changing fonts to help specific information stand out.
Hi Jada and Sally,
I was captivated by your infographic. The details and information included demonstrate the amount of effort that went into your infographic. On the second page, I appreciated how you included a question in the “The Dream is aspirational, not guaranteed” section for readers to contemplate on as we continue to read through your infographic. I would suggest maybe condensing the information a bit throughout your infographic in order to better follow along. Other than that, I truly enjoyed reading through your infographic. Amazing job!
Hello Jada and Sally! I learned a lot from your infographic regarding the American dream. Many think that the American dream is dying and that not a lot of people think that it is something that can no longer be achieved. You addressed this common concern in the section discussing modern challenges and even mentioned how people are concerned with the current state of the executive branch and it’s overreach, limited access to voting rights, and the general distrust of the American government. However, your mention of how our government is designed to provide equal protections under the law shows us how there is still room for success in today’s world. Yes, it may be more difficult for some to achieve than others due to various institutional factors, but it is still doable. One thing that I think would have been beneficial to readers in your infographic would have been a table of contents shown at the start to better highlight the principles that were explored. You both created a beautiful and insightful infographic, amazing job!
Great job on your project! I enjoyed how you both connected many of the readings in our class back to your principles. I really liked how you added modern challenges to your principles, as it helps the reader connect these to real everyday life challenges. The only advice I can give you both is to reduce some information to emphasize the important aspects of your research. This would help the reader have a better understanding of your message. The visuals were also very fitting and pleasing!
I really like how you used the idea of the American dream. I really enjoyed reading the “no taxation without representation” section and the key events in the timeline make it easy for me to understand it better. I loved all the pictures and how colorful it was it made me wanna keep reading and kept me hooked throughout all the pages. I think you should add a modern example of eminent domain in the section where you talked about the 5th and 6th amendment just to show how it connects to today’s legal application but very unique infographic overall.
Jada, I really liked what you said of Republicanism. “A system balancing law and order”. You go on to talk about how it builds a stable system that channels power through representation, rule of law, and civic virtue. It is very informative, you seem like you are very informed about this matter. It really highlights how a well-designed republic not only protects individual freedoms but also encourages citizens to actively participate in the governance of their society.
Jada, Sally, I was truly in awe of the dedication, hard work, and information that was put into your research. I was able to read, stay on track, and learn everything that was said. I was very impressed with how well you correlated your principles to American Political Thought, especially through the graphs used on page 1. The thing that stood out to me the most was the saying “The Dream is Aspirational, not Guaranteed.” I think that perfectly explains and describes “The American Dream.”
