StMU Research Scholars

Featuring Scholarly Research, Writing, and Media at St. Mary's University

This video delves into the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. The intention of the project is to show how it was perceived during the time and how the Nuclear war threat still exists today.

  1. Script and Lyrics Development: To craft lyrics that talk about the Cuban Missile Crisis, I used ChatGPT’s SUNO for initial ideas and inspiration. After drafting the lyrics, I refined them with Google Gemini, which helped enhance historical accuracy and finalize the lyrical tone.
  2. Visual Art: By asking Google Gemini to give an outline for images based on the lyrics and carefully adjusting prompts, I generated visuals that illustrated the crisis and a world if the nuclear war had occurred.
  3. Music Composition: The music creation was a highlight of the project. I composed the song using SUNO AI, experimenting with some music styles. I got the final version and mixed it with another to get the final version of the song. I chose a melancholic style to convey the tension of the time period.
  4. Editing and Assembly: I used CapCut to put everything together. I used transitions and some visual effects to make the video. At the end, I mixed two songs to create the sound of a nuclear alarm.

Using these AI tools, along with the knowledge gained from Dr. Whitener’s class, I was able to depict the crisis and the tension of the nuclear threat.
