Reading the Tree of Life

 

This infographic explores phylogenetic trees and it’s different components. From the simple ways to read a tree to exploring the deeper theories and concepts of connecting ancestors such as LUCA. Going through this infographic will inform you of ways scientist build a tree and how morphology and molecular techniques are used to build a phylogenetic tree.

Gabriella Silva is a third-year Exercise and Sports Science major with a strong interest in pediatric physical therapy. She is passionate about helping children with disabilities improve their quality of life through movement and rehabilitation.     Hi Gabriella! Thank you for explaining how to read a phylogenetic tree, which before reading your infographic I did not know that it is called a phylogenetic tree!
