I am a first-generation, senior Environmental Science major with a Biology minor and will be graduating in May 2022. Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, I am very excited to move to Boston, MA soon to start my PhD in Biological Sciences in Public Health at Harvard University where I hope to study Space Toxicology. I am currently the President of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) St. Mary's chapter, Founder and Vice President of StMU Humanitarians, and have been a MARC U*STAR scholar for almost 2 years. I also angle myself as a business-scientist, as I have authored a children's book (We Are All Human) and avidly market it to bookstores/bookshops. In my summers as a St. Mary's student, I have completed research projects at Michigan State University, Rutgers University, and with University of Louisville.

Hello Midori! I loved your infographic. I feel like it would be a great tool for kids who are feeling pressured to vape, but do not understand the side effects from it. The graphics you used were very helpful to the central idea. Vapes are not cool, so I appreciate the real information and visuals that you included to prove the point.

Hello, Midori! I couldn’t help but read your very impressive description. Congratulations on the award. Also, great idea to choose the topic of the use of electronic cigarettes. In our current society, the use of vapes is such a critical matter that needs to be quickly resolved. I really hope that people who actively vape stumble across your article and make them really think twice when vaping. Great information was provided in this infographic.

Great infographic! Following up the basic information given at the top of this unique piece with basic descriptions of some of the undesired effects caused by e cigarette and vape use creates a great narrative structure within the infographic. Further, using images to display such effects helps draw in the viewer and conveys the message to a more casual viewer who may just be scrolling by.

I am impressed with this infographic and congratulate the author on her 2022 STMU Research Scholars Award, as it is well deserved due to how this informative graph explains the issue of e-cigarette usage among the underaged American population. I am however a bit confused as to what your criteria for e-cigarettes is in this case, as you included Hookah instruments as a type of e-cigarette, which to my knowledge they most certainly are not. Nonetheless, aside from that this is an excellent research infographic, and if I could rate it I would give it a 9/10.

This is an excellent infographic on the dangers of e-cigarettes among today’s youth. Even though it is brief, it conveys the message about the dangers of e-cigarettes and how they have influenced the younger generation in a way that is easy for a reader to understand. The infographic’s design and visuals also make it visually appealing while still contributing to the topic.

This infographic tackles a pressing contemporary issue with a strong visual approach. The color scheme is satisfactory, striking a balance between aesthetics and visual clarity. Although the organization could be refined to create a more coherent flow of information, the infographic’s message remains accessible. The placement of images, however, could benefit from some adjustments to further optimize the visual hierarchy and overall composition. The selection of fonts is appropriate, ensuring easy readability and contributing positively to the infographic’s overall impact. The icons used throughout are well-chosen, effectively representing key concepts and enhancing the visual appeal.

I really enjoyed this infographic because I really love the design of it. It has a very unique style and look which truly sets it apart from other infographics. Not only is the design good, but the information conveyed on the infographic itself is also really amazing because it bring tons of awareness to a very relevant issue.

I just wanted to extend my warm congratulations on your nomination for the best infographic award! Your work was concise yet impactful, effectively conveying the dangers of e-cigarettes and their impact on the younger generation. As someone who has seen friends go through phases with these devices, I appreciate the ease with which your infographic conveyed such important information.

The choice of colors and fonts for this infographic was interesting. The clipart was very cute and tells you at face value the risks of e-cigarettes and goes to show just how dangerous these consumable toxics can really be. I would not be surprised to see that the number of 1:5 high schooler students that smoke has gone up in recent times because of the popularization of e-cigarettes and vapes alike with the new modern wave of media influences on newer generations.

Hey Midori, this feels like and infographic that a councilor or doctor would give a teenager. With the amount of pictures in the infographic is draws in your attention and makers you want to read the info due to the colorful pictures. My only hit on the infographic is the title, while it does get the point across it does not draw in the reader like others that I have seen.
