I was surprised by how instrumental Jomo Kenyatta was not just politically, but symbolically, in helping build Kenya’s identity. I like how you highlighted Kenyatta’s efforts to unify a deeply divided colonial society, and I resonated with Harambee as an inspiring movement to create change. I really enjoyed your infographic!

I was surprised to learn how the spirit of Harambee influenced so many different areas of Kenya’s development, from education to infrastructure to economic independence. I had always associated Kenya’s progress mainly with political leadership but did not realize how much the idea of community-driven efforts played such a large role after independence.

The best part of this infographic was how it connected the historical movement of Harambee to modern technologies like M-Pesa. It was powerful to see how a value rooted in unity and collective action still influences Kenyan society today. This connection between past and present made the story feel alive and relevant, which really resonated with me.

One piece of constructive feedback would be to consider simplifying some of the visuals and fonts. There is so much great information, but at times the colorful backgrounds and different text styles made it a little harder to focus on the main points. Overall, it was a very impressive and informative infographic!

The first thing that stuck out to me was learning about the concept of Harambee, and its impact in helping create a culture of looking out for one’s neighbors and community. Specifically, the way this is shown as instrumental in helping to kick-start the country’s development shortly after independence. It reminded me a bit of Umuganda, the Rwandan community service day that happens one Saturday every month. My feedback is that I would like to know how the development statistics shown in this article are expected to hold up, particularly in relation to other countries in the region.

The best part of this infographic was the inclusion of statistics and numbers to provide context for the impacts of Kenyatta’s and Harambee’s legacy. One thing about the country that surprises me is the suppression of opposition to ensure its stability and economic continuity. I think this is often thought of as a bad thing, but in this context, it seems necessary to help establish Kenya and continue improvements. I am curious to see how some of these statistics compare to neighboring countries.

    • As a Kenyan I’m really amazed by the graphic demo of how we as a country have grown and developed ever since our independence. Sixty years of independence brought more than just growth. It brought us a new era and identity amongst diverse people and many generations. Our children may learn about the heroes of the past. Our task is to make ourselves the architects of the future. Thank you the infographic.

I found this Infographic to be very informative and super interesting. Particularly about education and the economic growth of Kenya. I have found that Kenya’s average GDP growth rate over the past decade at 5% to be particularly impressive. Something that many countries can only hope for. How has Kenya’s growth in education and economy has inspired other countries around the world and within the African continent?

Thank you for creating such an informative and insightful infographic about Jomo Kenyatta, the first President of Kenya.
It was very interesting to learn of Kenyatta’s focus on Pan-Africanism and support for improvements in the country’s education system as an instrument to enhance literacy rates. Kenyatta’s focus on agriculture and economic independence was key to Kenya’s development and ability to focus on domestic infrastructure projects.
The layout of the infographic is structured in such a way that it is very easy to follow. Excellent job!

    Hey Sunny,
Great work! The post-independence Harambee initiative is super interesting and goes to show how important it is to focus on the local community, as it will ultimately benefit the nation as a whole! My favorite portion of your infographic was when you analyzed the impact of Harambee and Kenya’s education sector! Amazing work!

Great job with your infographics, they are easy to read and provide so much information. What stuck out the most to me is the influence Jomo Kenyatta had on the country, advocating for the African Diaspora to work towards a common goal and liberation from colonialism. It was also interesting to learn about the country’s economy and infrastructure development.

What surprised me most about this country is how Harambee was one of Kenyatta’s most significant contributions to Kenya’s post-independence development. The best part of this infographic was the Economic and Growth aspect to show progress resulting in Harambee. This was a great presentation, and very informative I do not have any additional suggestions for the author.

I was surprised by the extent of Jomo Kenyatta’s efforts to promote a better life for Kenya post-independence. The best part was the increase in education levels that have been generated because that opens up more development opportunities and economic development. I loved that this infographic was thorough and that the graphs provided supported the statements and information. Overall, Good Job!
