Featuring Scholarly Research, Writing, and Media at St. Mary's University

My video project focuses on Rosa Parks after the Montgomery Bus Boycott, shedding light on her continued activism and lifelong dedication to civil rights. I used a mix of historical research and creative AI tools to bring her story to life through realistic portraits, voice narration, and immersive storytelling.
  • Research and Scriptwriting: To develop the script, I used ChatGPT for in-depth research on Rosa Parks’ life beyond the bus incident. I crafted a narrative that highlights her lesser-known efforts in political organizing, community work, and advocacy. ChatGPT helped me shape a script that’s both historically accurate and emotionally meaningful.
  • Visual Creation: For visuals, I used Stable Diffusion to generate portraits of Rosa Parks. These AI-created images helped capture different stages of her life and conveyed her strength, resolve, and quiet power in a visually impactful way.
  • Voice and Audio Production: I used ElevenLabs to generate lifelike voiceovers from the script. The realistic narration added depth and emotion to the story, making it feel more personal and engaging for viewers.
  • Editing and Assembly: I brought everything together using iMovie, where I carefully arranged the portraits, voiceover, and background music into a cohesive video. Through thoughtful editing and pacing, I aimed to create a final product that was polished, informative, and emotionally resonant.
  • Creative Impact: By combining ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, ElevenLabs, and iMovie, I was able to tell a more complete story of Rosa Parks—one that goes beyond the bus and honors her lifelong fight for justice. This AI-assisted process allowed me to explore history in a creative, accessible, and deeply personal way.
