Gloria Steinem’s Journey
This is a new genre that some of the students in PO 2302 Civic Engagement & Social Action decided to attempt above and beyond their actual assignment to help our class design ways to disseminate their research and presentations beyond our class. To qualify to publish, students had to further edit their work and make the presentation more engaging by following a story arc and by removing most text and adding transition and morphing effects wherever possible. I am grateful to my entire class this Fall 2022 who took on this challenge and who worked above and beyond their course requirements to help us experiment with a new format for publishing on the StMU Research Scholars website.

Congratulations on your nomination. I think this was a really interesting video on how women have struggled throughout the years with voicing their opinions to begin with. It was a great representation of women’s oppression in a way since even though her opinion and problems were voiced they weren’t actually taken care of or treated properly amazing article congratulations once again.

This is a very interesting video. I really like how the video thing is set up. It is different. I can see you put a lot of effort into this, and it is a very powerful story being told. I really enjoy reading things like this because it relates to me and many people that I am around. I always like learning different things and especially this topic which is about women’s empowerment. Great video.

This video was a lot of fun to see. It was very well explained why it took so long for women to achieve equality. Her exploits were superbly described in this movie. My interest was captured and maintained throughout. She was adamant about supporting and defending the cause because of her intense enthusiasm for it. Women’s rights were such a hard thing to establish equal to men for so long. I have never personally heard of Gloria before but after hearing her story I am glad I did! She did so m much to create change and impact her community and those are the kinds of women that we need as role models. Thank you for sharing her story with this great video!

Hello! Congratulations on publishing a great publication! Prior to this publication, I had not heard of Gloria nor her story. However, this publication has allowed me to learn about her inspiring story. Her trailblazing in a male dominated field is a story and experience all women can relate to. Her resilience is an inspiration and confirmation that it is possible for women to dominate any industry they chose. Great job!

Good evening Kaitlyn. I love this video. The amount of information I gained was incredible. I love that you added information on the Women’s Liberation Movement and the Second Wave of Feminism and how Gloria was able to contribute to that moment in life. The efforts that women like Gloria have made throughout history have led to a significant growth in women participating in politics now more than ever despite the efforts that were once kept as dominating through men. Women’s rights and gender equality shed light on essential factors that have exploited society among those who could not vote or have a say in politics and equal rights. With movements like this, America increases in inclusivity and domination in engaging matters that will continue to persist throughout generations.

This video was very entertaining. The explanation of why it took so long for women to gain equality was excellent. In this film, her accomplishments were wonderfully well-reported. It caught my attention and held it throughout. She had a strong passion for the subject and a strong determination to support and fight for it.
