I think that the subject matter is something that is very important for today’s society. In today’s world most teens and adults are vaping. I think it’s something that’s gotten out of hand. I liked that you selected a subject matter that is not only important, but relevant. The information was too the point and the visual appeal was nice. Great job!

Hello, Hector! Thank you so much for exploring the issues surrounding the plague that is nicotine and any forms of smoking. Smoking obviously affects such a large population of people but this epidemic has truly been targeting so many young people in the past decade, at least in my opinion. Willingly inhaling any chemicals is such a dangerous game of roulette to play. I have first hand seen many people die from lung cancer, and I simply cannot begin to fathom the devastation that I’m sure vaping will cause in the coming decades. Vaping is very scary and the deaths and injuries that it can cause is real and I think so many young people think, “Oh it won’t happen to me.” But it will and everyone needs to be educated on what the dangerous of putting foreign substances are. I surely wouldn’t want my young family members to be a part of the 2,800+ that are living with lung injuries. I hope others can also come to realize the danger of vaping. Thank you for keeping us well informed. Good job!

There a lot of misconceptions about vaping, and it has become bit of a commonality in Secondary education schools, so this helps a lot. That’s why I liked the “Myths” section; it was informative in that respect. I also like the specific images chosen. I was a bit confused when you provided statistics on the negative consequences of vaping; I assume you meant that 68 deaths in total have been caused by vaping, but the addition of “in total” could have made that more clear. I understand that the 90% statistic is supposed to show how addicting vaping can be, but it still feels a bit out of place since everything else talks about the negative impacts of vaping, and a “[feeling of] less stress, and anxiety” sounds like a benefit.

It’s so crazy to hear that middle schoolers who are 13 and 14 years old are using electronic cigarettes. Misinformation about vapes is a a danger to youth because, as the infographic mentioned, if left unchecked will lead to serious health conditions. I feel like the statistics provided with the graphics are so impactful and really show the severity of the situation.

Great job keeping the reader informed with “Beyond the Smoke”. The infographics is a myth buster. It was nice to see all the myths about vaping answered with facts. The use of the color scheme was good, especially the use of red to demonstrate one in five vape. Good job associating death, lung, stress, and life expectancy with easy-to-read information. Great job Hector.

Interesting topic. The topic is informative and straight to the point. It has the right amount of pictures and information to get the point across without being invasive. Vaping has become an issue affecting the health of many. It would’ve been interesting to see you discuss how easy it is for kids underage to buy a vape. How are these children partaking in illegal activities so easily?

I enjoyed this article, because it was super informative and straightforward. I also liked the title, the colors fit perfectly as well. I thought it was crazy that 3.6 million high schoolers and middle schoolers use vapes. The infographic talks about the negative effects of vapes that many people probably don’t know about and at the end it specifically talked about the myths that people tend to believe about vapes. Overall, great job!

Hey Hector! Loved your infographic! It is well informative towards the end you included Myths! Now a days they’re a lot of myths regarding vaping it is nice that you have included some! The icons in this infographic are very useful I wished you could add more information about the deaths caused by vaping -like how were they mostly likely to die of? And how if you had health issues before vaping how can that affect your health.

Hello Hector, informative infographic and good subject we were in high school during a time when E-Cigarette’s and vapes were introduced so we saw first hand how it affected younger people. Many people started to use pens for marijuana or vapes and not many studies had been done on the safety of them and none on long term effects when they were introduced I’ve heard they aren’t as bad as cigarettes but it is still a step backward in the fight against smoking

I loved the title of the article its very clever. The information being shown is very surprising I would have never guessed that middle schoolers would be using vape products. I enjoyed the fact that it was easy to read and straight to the point. I found the section where myths related to vaping were being shown very interesting. Wonderful job!
